8.9.2023 TASTA CEO Bob Shuma addressing Bill Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) senior officials led by Roger Voorhies(picture) Foundation’s President of Global Growth & Opportunities. The subject touched on partnership in seed industry perspectives including achievements by projects especially the latest on Groundnuts and Sorghums funded by CIMMYT-ICRISAT.
More information was shared on seed security/ exports/policy/advocacy/youth and women/investments in seed business/successes/challenges/future perspectives. In totality he was happy with the role seed industry has contributed towards Agricultural Transformation and Food Security and growing export potentials.

21.9.2023 TASTA CEO Mr. Bob Shuma updating TASTA Chairman Mr. Charles Chuwa of Corteva Agriscience discussed response to be made to the Ministry of Agriculture on submission of price lists as per minister’s directive. It was also agreed that TASTA should host a meeting with its members and discuss on how best they should respond to this directive. The meeting was held 22/9/2023 at TASTA.

All participated Seed Companies agreed to abide to the ministerial directives to submit their price list as guided before October 3, 2023 and copied to TASTA as per letter.

25.9.2023 TASTA CEO with Jerry Peterson from TAHA in a meeting planning for the Launch of the Tanzania Horticulture and Potato Seed Platform 4th October 2023 Four Points Hotel – Arusha. The platform will be launched by Ministry of Agriculture and Dutch Embassy Tanzania who funded formation of this platform.
