- Establishment of strong and reputable seed trade association
- Coordination of bio-technology, bio-safety, and seed multiplication training for the members of TASTA.
- Promotion of local indigenous companies like ALPHA SEED, SUBA AGRO, MERU AGRO,IFFA SEED,BAJUTA INT. TANSEED INT,BEULA SEED, AMINATA SEED,AGRI SEED,SOUTHERN HIGHLAND,NORTHERN SEED,JAMBE AGRO,DHIRMA AGRO,MULTI AGRO,MBOZI HIGHLAND,LIMA AFRICA,ALSSEM CO,TEMNAR,AGRI SEED TECH,RIETA AGRO,PAVIG AGRO,AGRINATURE ETC.
- Participation in the formulation of SADC seed network that allowed the seed to flow to the member countries.
- Successfully advocated for the government circular to allow local companies to use public varieties.
- Pioneered three important instruments (UPOV/OECD/ISTA) that facilitate the Tanzania private sector to produce Quality seed for local and international export markets.
- Established strong collaboration with the East African seed associations.
- Participating in the various missions to represent the private sector.
- Successful preparation of the members on how to engage in dialogue meetings.
- In 2016 TASTA successfully engaged the government to sign Circular 2011 0n 1.1.2017 which allowed private sector to “Access Public Varieties”
- Positive engagement with the government in the various policy initiatives.
- Oganisation of TASTA-AFSTA conference in Zanzibar in 2012 as part of the association’s celebration of 10 years.
- Participation in the formulation of SADC seed network that allowed the seed to flow to the member countries.
- Hosting Harvard University law student every January of each year to learn the link of East Africa and SADC countries.
- Sustaining stakeholders meetings in every two years.
- Organisation of the staff of TASTA members to be trained by TOSCI on quality control.
- Successfully organised OECD training for members of TASTA in 2017.
- In May 2021, TASTA organised a consultative meeting with the Minister for Agriculture in Dodoma and a number of directives to improve the seed industry were issued afterwards.
- In 2020, TASTA trained seed stakeholders on characterising and grading seed to conform to international standards using the project balance.
- From 2016 – 2022 TASTA has received support from AGRA for Secretariat capacity building and policy reforms which currently include: Policy briefs, Strategic Plan, studies by Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Management(IMED) on “Removal of crop cess”, and “Availability of land for seed production to private sector”.
